SUPER BOWL PARTY: Our annual Super Bowl Party (a/k/a “Souper” Bowl) will be held at Uno’s in Langhorne, PA on Sunday, February 7, from 5:30 p.m. until the game is over. Light fare will be served, and a cash bar will be available. Please bring a can of soup or other canned goods to be collected for donation to a local food bank. Enjoy a fun evening cheering on your favorite team and helping the needy at the same time! A ticket is required for this event ($12/members; $17/non-members) and can be purchased from any board member. Make checks payable to “Yardley Singles.” NO TICKETS WILL BE SOLD AT THE DOOR.

NEW EVENT: Our calendar features a new dinner destination, The Inn at Phillips Mill, scheduled for Sunday, February 21, at 5:30 p.m. Enjoy French country food in a beautiful 18^th century stone barn, complete with a fireplace. Entrées range from $18 to $25, and The Inn is a BYOB establishment. Space is limited to twenty, so make your reservation early!

REMINDER: All dinners are cash only and require a reservation. If you change your mind, please call the hotline so your reservation can be given to someone else. Thank you for your cooperation.

HOLIDAY DINNER DANCE: Many thanks to Barbara, Natalie and Peggy for planning a super evening. The room was festive, the food was delicious, the music was great, the dance floor was always full, and the event was a huge success. Great job!

CAROLING/DINNER: Once again the Yardley Singles carolers were in fine voice as we serenaded the residents of Manor Care Nursing Home. And once again, Kathy cooked up an outstanding meal. Thank you, Kathy and Ed, for all your much appreciated hard work and gracious hospitality!

WEATHER ALERT: Now that winter is here, an event might have to be cancelled if Mother Nature sends snow. Please call the hotline or check the website for any last minute cancellations due to inclement weather.

GET WELL WISHES to our friend, Gus, who is recuperating from a recent hospital stay. We’re glad to see you are getting “back on your feet”--keep up the good work!

Yardley Park’n’Ride Info: Located off the Yardley I-95 exit on Taylorsville Road. Meet in the middle of the lot for carpooling events. A board member may not be at this location. It is up to those in attendance to determine what time to leave and arrange the carpooling. Don’t forget to share the expenses of driving.

House Party/Game Night Info: A reservation is required for all events held at someone’s home. Attendance is limited. Non-alcoholic beverages and snacks are provided. BYOB and non-member attendance is at the discretion of the host/hostess. Cost varies depending on the type of function.
