GOODBY
WINTER AND HELLO SPRING!!
SPRING
FLING: Hooray -
winter is almost gone and spring is just around the corner. Help us
celebrate at our “Spring
Fling” dance being
held at Yardley Country Club on Saturday,
April 24 ($15/members;
$20/non-members). The fun starts at 8:00 p.m.,
and we’ll have music by a DJ and door prizes. A cash bar will be
available. The dance prices have been raised due to increased
expenses, so here’s another good reason to become a member and
enjoy the discounted price!
BOWLING:
Our recent bowling
outing was so much fun, it’s back on the schedule for March and
April. Join us as we cheer the strikes and laugh at the gutter balls
and then go out to dinner at a local restaurant. See if you can beat
the left-handed strike master, Fred Roberts!
LARRY
McKENNA FANS: In
addition to being a great musician, Larry is now the writer and
producer of a comedy, “The Next Reunion,” appearing at Society
Hill Playhouse in Philadelphia. Sunday afternoon, May 23, at 2:00
p.m. will be the “Yardley Singles” show and includes a $5
discount and a complimentary beverage prior to the show or during
intermission. Before the curtain rises, be sure to fill out a
nametag with your high school affiliation and get to know your fellow
“classmates.” And in the Larry McKenna tradition, there will be
prizes! For tickets, call the theater box office (215-923-0210) and
give them the discount code “Yardley
Singles LMM.” For
more information about the play, prices and parking, go to
www.TheNextReunion.com.
To carpool, meet at Yardley Park’n’Ride at 12:30 p.m. THIS
IS A NON-SPONSORED EVENT.
And
look for Larry McKenna again at our next Holiday Party!
PICNIC:
Believe it or not,
our first picnic is scheduled for Sunday, May 16. Mark your
calendar for our official welcome to summer and look for more
information in the next newsletter.

CONDOLENCES:
We wish to extend our
deepest sympathy to Val Stein on the sudden passing of her beautiful
daughter, Karyn. Val and her family are in our thoughts during this
difficult time.
GET
WELL WISHES to Joan
Shepard who is recovering from wrist surgery. We hope you have a
speedy recovery. Look at the bright side--you can’t shovel snow!
REMEMBER
AL BIERMAN? The
remains of seven military veterans were the first to be laid to rest
at the new Washington Crossing National Cemetery. Al was one of the
seven, and we thank him and all in the military for their service to
our country.
Don’t
forget to change your clocks on March 13--“SPRING” forward and
good riddance to snow!
